The Healing Power of Art: How Creativity Transforms Mental Health

In the youtube channel of .ART, I watched a webinar titled “The Healing Power of Art: How Creativity Transforms Mental Health”

Jeff Sass, Chief Marketing Officer of .ART Registry made the introduction of the webinar and talked about how this art initiative started.

I really liked the idea of a registry company to start a social project. Then I visited the website of this initiative to have information in detail.

The information note below I had from this website is a good summary about the purpose of this initiative and its role in healing the power of art.

“This is when the idea of the Art Therapy Initiative was conceived as an important ongoing mission to be supported by the business of .ART domains. The therapeutic importance of Art resonates on a very personal level for the Kasimov family. Ulvi and Reikhan’s daughter Medina has a speech disability, yet found her voice through art.  Today she is an established artist in her own right with a solo exhibition. For Medina, art was instrumental in the process of finding her voice, not just through painting as a medium, but in life itself.

As a cornerstone of the Art Therapy Initiative, .ART pledges a portion of .ART domain sales to support a scholarship endowment for graduate fellowships for students in the Art Therapy Program at George Washington University in Washington D.C. This is the first step in an ongoing mission to support Art Therapy that will include a series of virtual activities to explore a wide range of art therapy topics with GWU and other partners of the Initiative.”

Medina Kasimova is the daughter of the founder of .ART Registry Ulvi Kasimova. You can visit her website to see her beautiful art works.

You can also have more information about this initiative from its website www.therapy.art.art.

I hope that this social responsibility project will be a good initiative for other registries and we will hear that they have started similar projects in the near future.
